Q. What is this? A . Primarily ,a person who is faith based i.e. she or he let their lives be shaped by belief and practice in God. The person is recognised by thier own faith community with gifts and skills related to providing chaplaincy to people and work processes in the workplace. They ally themself to the practices of Kent Workplace Mission to provide an agreed service to the business site as agreed with the employer and on site staff representation or Trade Union. The principle activity of the chaplaincy service is personal contact with all people of site of any faith or no faith. The service is confidential, impartial and non-invasive; available to all who require the support of the chaplain. 

Q How does the chaplaincy work?

A. The answer is, however the service is set up in consultation with the business. Some chaplains visit the site very regularly, make themself known to people at work and respond as the circumstances dictate. Chaplains befriend, examine options with the individual to the issues they wish to discuss and provide encouragement as these are tried out. The chaplain might if asked or circumstances so indicate offer prayer. Workplace chaplaincy is based in the value  that 'every person matters, and is worthy of support for the emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
